“Researching Your Polish & Galician Jewish Roots”
Speaker: Pamela Weisberger

Are you curious about your Jewish roots?  This presentation will show you how to use online databases of Jewish records from Poland, Ukraine and Galicia so you can easily go back hundreds of years to find out detailed information on your ancestors.   I will cover the resources of Gesher Galicia, JewishGen,, Familysearch and JRI-Poland, as well as archival resources. historical cadastral (property) maps showing land and business owners names, and “Genealogy by Genetics,” using DNA testing  to discover more about your family history than you ever thought possible.

Gesher Galicia is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people research their Jewish family roots in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire province of Galicia, which is today southeastern Poland and southwestern Ukraine. Our organization's primary focus is researching Jewish roots in Galicia, but the diverse community records in our databases contain names that span all the ethnic and religious groups who once lived in this region.
