The Gesher Galicia Cheder is proud to present a new two-part online learning experience Getting the Most Out of Gesher Galicia, hosted by Kaye Prince-Hollenberg, Gesher Galicia’s Director of Education. Open to participants from around the world, this webinar series will take participants on a journey through Gesher Galicia’s website, exploring its databases, offerings, and special record collections. It is sure to be appreciated by both beginners and seasoned users of Gesher Galicia alike.
This series will be offered on two consecutive Sundays – October 18 and 25, 2026 – virtually via Zoom at 11am eastern standard time. While the series is offered at no charge, pre-registration is required. Both parts will be recorded and hosted for later viewing.
Part One: October 18
Part One will cover the areas of the Gesher Galicia website that are accessible to all users such as the All Galicia Database, Database Inventories, and Map Room. This first half of the series is intended as a walkthrough of the main areas of the website to ensure that all users feel confident utilizing the most basic features.
Part Two: October 25
Part Two will include a walkthrough of the many benefits that are only available to Gesher Galicia members including images of archival records. These archival records include collections such as The NKVD Criminal Cases Project and The 1940-1941 Vital Records Project that are not available digitally through any other source. Other areas of interest include the Members Portal, Family Finder, and The Galitzianer.
Parts One and Two will both be followed by Question & Answer periods with Kaye. Please be sure to register early as these Q&A periods will only be available during the live webinars.

Kaye Prince-Hollenberg began her genealogical journey over 30 years ago while attending annual family reunions hosted by her grandmother’s family. Specializing in Jewish Genealogy and Holocaust Research, she has been working as a professional genealogist for several years. She began volunteering with Gesher Galicia in 2019 as an identifier on the Przemyśl Identification Project, and now serves as both the Director of Education and Research Associate for the DATO project.
