Your contributions, of any size, support our research projects and general operations. All indexes of record sets are added to the All Galicia Database, and maps to the Map Room, for free searching online.

Vital Records Project

Holocaust Project

Donations will be gratefully accepted to the Holocaust Project, which in 2020 includes the indexing of extensive sets of records from the Stanisławów Ghetto, 1941-1943, from material held in the State Archive of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (DAIFO) and in the Przemyśl State Archive.

Josephine & Franciscan Cadastral Surveys Project

Medical Students/Doctors Project

Donations are accepted for the Galician Medical Students/Doctors Project, which currently includes archival surveys and the indexing of academic records from the Jagiellonian University (1919-1939).

General Research Fund supports the acquisition of records, their indexing, and their uploading to the All Galicia Database; scanning and stitching maps, and their uploading to the Map Room; and the creation and updating of archival inventories on the Gesher Galicia website.

Gesher Galicia is a non-profit organization carrying out Jewish genealogical and historical research on Galicia, formerly a province of Austria-Hungary and today divided between southeastern Poland and western Ukraine. The research work includes the indexing of archival vital records and census books, Holocaust-period records, Josephine and Franciscan cadastral surveys, lists of Jewish taxpayers, and records of Galician medical students and doctors - all added to our searchable online database. In addition, we reproduce regional and cadastral maps for our online Map Room. We conduct educational research and publish a quarterly research journal, the Galitzianer.
