From 1777 until 1819 the Rabbi was Reb Aryeh Leibush, author of "Gevuror Aryeh", who was renowned as one of the great saints of his generation. The story is told that the Rabbi, Reb Aryeh Leibush, used to visit the Jewish shops in town and check the weights himself in order to ensure rhat there should be no deception.
